Relay is a digital banking platform for self-made business owners, providing tools and visibility to manage cash flow and run stronger businesses. As Senior Product Manager, Growth (Activation), you will own the critical journey from first login to funded, transacting, habitual use of Relay.
You'll be accountable for activation rate, time-to-first-deposit, and product adoption depth in the first 90 days. Your focus is closing the gap between account opening and active business use—where most SMBs stall. Key responsibilities include rebuilding the post-signup experience to accelerate first funded transactions, diagnosing and fixing drop-off points in the account approval-to-payment funnel, and standing up experimentation infrastructure for continuous activation testing.
You'll drive adoption of sticky products (multiple accounts, cards, bill pay, accounting integrations) by placing them in front of the right owner at the right moment. You'll partner with Risk and Operations to minimize friction from compliance controls (KYC, fraud) while protecting the business. You'll also build the narrative and roadmap that aligns leadership, Marketing, and Customer Experience around a shared activation definition.
In this role, you'll treat activation as a business metric, run a rigorous experiment engine, and ship high-quality product end-to-end as part of a design-engineering-product leadership trifecta. You'll stay deeply connected to SMB customers, understanding their hesitations and designing for the trust that earns their money movement. You'll champion product culture through curiosity, ownership, and a high bar for quality.
Required: 5+ years of product management with a track record of moving funnel or lifecycle metrics. Direct experience with activation, onboarding, or early-lifecycle work in product-led businesses. Strong data competency—self-serve metrics, SQL fluency, and ability to distinguish signal from noise. Fluent in experimentation design and rigor. Excellent storytelling and cross-functional communication. Hands-on operator's instinct balancing UX details with roadmap strategy.
Bonus: fintech activation experience (especially navigating compliance, funding, and risk controls in the customer journey), early-stage company scaling experience, familiarity with risk/fraud tools and KYC frameworks, or lifecycle/CRM system building with marketing teams.
