Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Mission Command team, part of the Connected Warfare Division, builds command and control (C2) tools that help warfighters understand their environment, make faster decisions, and direct forces. These tools are powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center.
As a Forward Deployed Product Manager, you own the complete path from warfighter problem to fielded solution, covering applications, data models, user experiences, integrations, and infrastructure. This role is fundamentally about embedding with military units, building deep expertise in how they fight, and earning trust to influence product direction. You serve as a translation layer between warfighters and engineering teams, solving their problems rather than selling solutions.
Key responsibilities include: owning warfighter outcomes rather than features; embedding with units to learn missions and identify critical problems; building trusted relationships with warfighters, commanders, and subject matter experts; conducting field research through observation and participation in real workflows; mapping users, decisions, workflows, systems, and data dependencies; designing solutions across the full stack (applications, data models, integrations, workflows); leveraging data models as a product tool; designing for tactical edge conditions including degraded networks and limited bandwidth; coordinating cross-functional teams around shared problems; handling ambiguous problems through strategy, workflow design, and technical collaboration; leading workshops and design sessions; communicating effectively to operators, large groups, and senior leadership; prototyping ideas before engineering investment; monitoring solutions through fielding and operational feedback; and identifying patterns for reusable solutions across units and programs.
You will spend significant time in the field with actual users, understanding their workflows and constraints. The role requires comfort with ambiguity, strong ownership, genuine curiosity, and humility. You must balance competing needs across engineering, data, and business stakeholders while maintaining focus on mission outcomes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance
- 4 to 8 years in product management, product scope definition, service design, or equivalent record of turning hard user problems into fielded solutions
- Track record translating technical and domain-specific information into narratives, CONOPS, mission threads, and feature definitions
- Experience conducting research and synthesis with users and SMEs, building roadmaps from findings
- History of earning trust with non-technical, operational users and partnering with them beyond requirements collection
- Ability to balance needs across engineering, data, and business stakeholders
- Comfort working with people across wide range of technical backgrounds; willingness to learn technical systems well enough to inform product decisions
- Strong facilitation and whiteboarding skills, including leading interactive planning and decomposition sessions
- Ability to do own design work in common tools such as Figma
- Strong organizational skills and reliability
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including to field and training environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Military experience or direct experience working alongside operational military units, with understanding of how units fight and familiarity with Army staff processes, TTPs, and doctrine
- Range of product experience across internal tools, customer-facing applications, and tools for technical users
- Working knowledge of data models, system integrations, networking, or distributed and edge systems
- Self-starter who performs well with ambiguity and loose organizational structure
- Experience fielding capabilities and improving them based on real operational feedback
