Attentive is an AI marketing platform that unifies SMS, RCS, email, and push notifications to deliver personalized customer experiences. The company serves 8,000+ customers across 70+ industries, including major brands like Crate and Barrel, Urban Outfitters, and Carter's.
As Senior Product Manager for Data Platform Extensibility, you will own the evolution of Attentive's data model to support diverse customer use cases across e-commerce, retail, sports, entertainment, travel, and hospitality. Your mandate is to build generic primitives that enable the platform to model any customer's business, deciding which data entities become first-class concepts and which remain flexible.
Key responsibilities include:
- Introducing new first-class and generic data objects to address gaps in enterprise deals, establishing patterns that make subsequent objects cheaper to add
- Defining relationships between objects (users to offers, events to catalogs, catalogs to stores/regions) to unlock use cases like bring-your-own product and offer recommendations
- Building the semantic layer that tells marketers and AI agents what their data means, deciding which data gets promoted to native object entities
- Partnering across product and engineering to ensure every new object and field is consistently exposed across segmentation, personalization, reporting, APIs, and MCP surfaces
This role requires deep technical fluency in data modeling to recognize patterns across disconnected use cases and identify scalable solutions for rapid vertical expansion.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of product management experience building complex B2B or SaaS platforms, with a track record of owning ambiguous, high-scope problem spaces end-to-end
- Strong technical fluency with data models and schemas; ability to go deep with engineers on storage, relationships, extensibility, and migration tradeoffs; understanding of how API contracts shape customer capabilities
- Ability to translate abstract infrastructure investment into concrete customer outcomes and business impact that executives and sellers can act on
- Comfort learning unfamiliar industries quickly and modeling them accurately; enjoyment of understanding how businesses operate before deciding platform representation
- Exceptional written communication and structured thinking; ability to define strategy from a blank page and align teams around it
