PhysicsX is a physics AI company for industrials, building simulation software to accelerate hardware innovation across aerospace & defence, automotive, semiconductors, materials, and energy & renewables. The company is headquartered in the UK with offices in London, New York, Singapore, and the Bay Area.
You will own the Platform's secure software supply chain—the path from source code to running software wherever customers deploy the platform. You will own two existing products and incubate a third:
**Cloud Developer Environment (CDE)**: the toolchain inside each customer's cluster that lets users build software without becoming software engineers.
**Release Engineering**: how PhysicsX ships the Platform to customers across SaaS, customer VPCs, data centres, and export-controlled air-gapped sites.
**Agentic Software Factory**: how PhysicsX builds and ships the Platform itself, with AI agents working alongside engineers to guide implementation, verification, testing, and velocity.
Key responsibilities include owning discovery, priorities, and roadmap for CDE and release engineering while incubating the agentic software factory. You will hide the developer toolchain complexity from users, reduce release effort differences between connected and disconnected environments, and design install experiences with deployment engineers. You'll define staged and canary releases, make rollback safe and routine, ensure full disconnected operation with no public-cloud dependencies, and treat AI agents as first-class users with the same interfaces and guardrails as people. You'll use PhysicsX's internal experience to guide product improvements and define metrics for the factory's impact on delivery speed and software quality.
**Requirements:**
*Where you need to be strongest:*
- Deep technical expertise in continuous delivery, artifact supply chains, and SDLC
- Product management experience with developer platforms or software delivery tooling
- Shipped into environments you cannot reach directly (disconnected, regulated, or customer-operated)
- Turned internal tooling into a product other teams rely on
- Explored agentic coding or delivery workflows and can assess their limitations in engineering teams
*Foundations:*
- Experience with enterprise security, compliance, and change control
- Built products for expert users who are not software engineers
- Shaped new teams: scope, priorities, and early hires
- Clear communication that aligns teams
*Nice to have:*
- Engineering software background or experience in simulation, design, or process engineering
- Software engineering background or experience building developer tooling
- Software supply chain security expertise (provenance, signing, vulnerability scanning)
