MUBI is a global streaming service, production company, and film distributor dedicated to elevating great cinema. The company creates, curates, acquires, and champions visionary films for audiences worldwide, with teams spanning London, New York, Istanbul, Paris, Berlin, and Mexico.
You will own the Audience & Platform Expansion domain—a critical product surface for MUBI's next growth phase. This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Product Director. You will be responsible for building the scalable foundation to drive global subscriber acquisition and pioneer tiered premium offerings. You'll own strategy, roadmap, and delivery end-to-end, from high-level business goals through shipped, measured features.
Key responsibilities include:
- Translating business goals into clear, actionable product roadmaps and owning sub-strategy for specific areas (e.g., onboarding, content discovery, monetization, viewer experience).
- Guiding technical products through their entire lifecycle—conception, development, launch, and iteration.
- Partnering directly with Engineering, UX/UI Design, Data Science, Marketing, Business Development, and Legal to define requirements and resolve trade-offs.
- Establishing KPIs and OKRs for your area, using data-backed insights to iterate quickly and demonstrate measurable impact.
- Pitching roadmaps to senior leadership to guide resource allocation and aligning teams without direct hierarchy.
- Writing narrative strategy memos and presenting complex visions clearly to leadership and engineering teams.
- Mentoring other team members and raising the bar for product thinking.
You will lead through clarity and influence rather than headcount, aligning engineering, design, and data scientists around a shared vision. The role emphasizes craft, product excellence, and real user impact over shipping for its own sake. You'll work hybrid-remote with 3 required office days per week in Soho, London (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday core days) if commutable from London.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Design, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years in product management or closely related technical role, with at least 3–5 years focused on shipping complex technical products from 0 to 1.
- Strong business judgment and strategic thinking; ability to see the big picture and make connections across teams and issues.
- Technical acumen: ability to translate highly technical engineering constraints (machine learning models, streaming architectures, latency) into clear business trade-offs for non-technical stakeholders.
- Deep domain fluency in identity and access management, subscription management, billing and monetization, and data processing; ability to debate architectural and technical trade-offs.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence rather than direct authority.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, including narrative strategy writing for senior audiences.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience with AI tools and AI prototyping.
- Deep alignment with MUBI's culture and values: craftsmanship, product excellence, bias toward high-impact work, and genuine respect for the user.
