Helius is building core infrastructure for Solana, enabling developers to create crypto-powered applications. The company provides APIs, webhooks, and indexing tools used by thousands of teams including Coinbase, Phantom, and Jupiter. Backed by Haun Ventures, Founders Fund, and Foundation Capital, Helius is a senior team focused on performance, simplicity, and scalability in decentralized systems.
You will own the product roadmap across Helius's entire data platform, including real-time streaming (LaserStream), historical and archival data, RPC infrastructure, APIs, webhooks, and developer tooling. Your customers are engineers at trading firms, wallets, and data platforms who care deeply about latency budgets, delivery guarantees, and API ergonomics.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the complete product roadmap, balancing customer requests, infrastructure investments, and new product bets
- Spending significant time with customers—trading firms, wallets, indexers—to understand their architectures and where products fit or fall short
- Using products hands-on and making code contributions where they accelerate shipping: prototypes, example integrations, bug reproduction, and developer tooling improvements
- Tracking the competitive landscape (streaming providers, data API vendors) and translating insights into positioning, pricing, and build/kill decisions
- Defining product guarantees: delivery semantics, ordering, SLAs, and performance/cost/simplicity trade-offs
- Writing specs and decision memos that provide staff-level engineers clear context without prescribing implementation
- Owning pricing and packaging across the platform, including enterprise deals and usage-based models
- Driving end-to-end launches: positioning, documentation, migration guides, changelogs, and developer communication (including sensitive topics like pricing changes and billing corrections)
- Instrumenting and tracking adoption, activation, usage growth, churn signals, latency and reliability SLOs, and revenue
- Building lightweight product processes appropriate for a senior remote team
You will be embedded with engineering, participate in enterprise deals, and maintain constant customer contact. This product has real traction and real revenue; you're deciding where it goes next, not building from zero.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of product management experience on technical, developer-facing products (streaming/messaging systems, data infrastructure, APIs, market data, or similar)
- Engineering experience and working coding ability—you can write code, integrate against APIs yourself, and prototype without waiting on an engineer (must be real, though can be minimal)
- Genuine technical depth: understanding of distributed systems trade-offs, ability to reason about throughput, backpressure, and delivery guarantees, and ability to hold your own with staff engineers
- Crypto experience: you've built in, worked on, or shipped products for blockchain ecosystems and understand on-chain data, wallets, and transactions
- Experience serving demanding technical customers (ideally trading firms, fintech, or latency-sensitive users) and turning raw feedback into prioritized product decisions
- Track record of owning product outcomes: adoption, revenue, or retention numbers you can speak to
- Strong pricing instincts for usage-based infrastructure products
- Exceptional written communication: remote and async-heavy environment requires specs and memos that stand on their own, including customer-facing comms on sensitive topics
- Comfort operating with high autonomy as the primary product voice in the company
NICE TO HAVE:
- Prior experience as a software engineer or history of shipping meaningful code contributions as a PM
- Direct experience with real-time market data, event streaming (Kafka, gRPC streaming, WebSockets at scale), or exchange/trading infrastructure
- Solana-specific experience: built on Solana or worked deeply with its data model, RPC layer, or ecosystem
- Experience as an early, founding, or lead PM at an infrastructure or devtools company
