You will serve as Senior Product Manager for AI & Data in a player-coach manager role. This is a hands-on position where you own execution directly while building out the AI product and engineering function over time. You will start with a small team reporting to you and define direction through shipping, not delegation.
Your scope includes AI product strategy and roadmap across document intelligence, workflow automation, and data-driven decisioning, with the mortgage Point of Sale as the flagship integration surface. You will directly manage AI engineers and data engineers, setting direction, removing blockers, and developing the team. You'll drive deep AI integration into the POS, ensuring AI capabilities are embedded in the borrower and loan officer experience. You'll coordinate across AI and data engineering to design, scope, and ship production systems at speed, maintain peer relationships with Product, Engineering, and Customer Experience teams, evaluate vendors and models against cost and performance considerations, and own feature intake and prioritization for AI requests.
You bring 8+ years in product management with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML products in production. You have demonstrated experience shipping AI-powered features end-to-end, from problem definition through model deployment and evaluation. You have managed or mentored AI engineers or data engineers directly. You possess strong technical fluency—able to read API docs, evaluate model outputs, and collaborate with ML engineers without a translator. You have strong data engineering fluency and can reason about pipelines, schemas, data quality, and the infrastructure AI products depend on. You have experience with LLM-based systems, including prompt design, RAG architectures, and document intelligence. You ship fast, make pragmatic build-versus-buy decisions, and are comfortable operating in ambiguity. You write crisp product specs, lead cross-functional reviews, and present to executives. You manage peer relationships effectively and apply data-driven prioritization discipline.
Nice-to-have experience includes fintech, mortgage, or regulated industry background; awareness of AI systems in regulated environments; familiarity with AWS cloud AI services or equivalent platforms; experience with document AI workflows; hands-on familiarity with modern data warehouses and transformation tools; product analytics tools and SQL proficiency; and experience scaling a small AI product or engineering function.
