Salary: USD 205,000 - 231,000 / annual
Chainguard is building a new CI/CD product designed specifically for AI agents. Unlike traditional CI systems built for humans who push code a few times a day, this product addresses the reality that agents iterate far more frequently and need fundamentally different infrastructure. The core technical pieces already run in production; this role is about taking the system to market as a product.
As Senior Product Manager for AI CI/CD, you will own the complete product lifecycle from strategy through launch. Your responsibilities include:
**Strategy & Roadmap**: Define the vision, strategy, and product roadmap. Make tradeoff decisions about what to build first, what comes next, and what to deliberately exclude.
**0→1 Product Development**: Transform an internal system into a customer-facing product. Bring structure to undefined problems, make critical tradeoff calls, and get features in front of users before they feel polished.
**Deep Domain Understanding**: Go beyond public discourse on agentic development to understand how developers and their agents actually write, test, review, and ship code today—including the messy, undocumented parts.
**Design Partnerships**: Identify teams running large agent fleets, get the product into their hands early, and translate their feedback into product priorities.
**Developer Experience**: Own the entire adoption journey—how the product gets tried, configured, and integrated into workflows—so teams can adopt it without running a migration project.
**Launch Execution**: Lead positioning, naming, documentation, pricing strategy, and go-to-market narrative alongside Product Marketing. You determine when the product is ready to launch.
**Cross-Functional Leadership**: Partner with Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, and other Product leaders to keep a small team aligned while the AI/agent space evolves rapidly.

**Requirements**:
- 5+ years of product management experience on developer-facing, infrastructure, security, or similarly technical products
- Demonstrated experience building agent tools: coding agents, agent frameworks, MCP servers, eval systems, or developer tooling designed to be driven by AI models (this is the most critical requirement)
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD from the inside: builds, tests, caches, runners, artifacts, merge gates, and understanding of why pipelines become slow, flaky, and expensive
- Experience taking technical products from early concept through launch and iteration
- Strong judgment about scope and what to exclude from a product
- Comfort working with deeply technical engineering teams; ability to hold your own in design discussions and debate tradeoffs with engineers
- Regular direct engagement with developers; ability to distinguish between technology that interests developers and products they will actually adopt
- Strong writing skills (decisions are made in documents)
- Ability to operate independently in fast-moving, uncharted territory with no established playbook
**Nice to Haves**:
- Experience running coding agents in production at scale or building systems to manage them safely
- Background with developer platforms, build systems, remote execution, or hosted development environments
- Experience with containers, Kubernetes, registries, or cloud-native infrastructure
- Track record building security products for developers and understanding how quickly developers abandon tools that create friction
- Experience serving both individual developers and large enterprises simultaneously
- Personal experience owning and struggling with your team's CI infrastructure
