LiveKit is building the infrastructure layer for the agentic era of computing, powering voice and physical AI applications for companies like OpenAI, Salesforce, Spotify, Meta, and robotics companies including Skydio, Nuro, and Oxa. The platform enables developers to build, test, deploy, scale, and observe physical AI in production.
You'll join as a Senior Product Engineer focused on building the developer-facing surfaces that make LiveKit intuitive and powerful to use. Most work spans web dashboards, CLI tooling, observability interfaces, and debug surfaces—the layers that transform raw APIs into a cohesive platform developers love.
This is a core engineering role requiring strong technical execution. You'll write production code primarily in TypeScript and Go, work end-to-end across the stack, and ship features that real developers depend on daily. What distinguishes Product Engineers at LiveKit is product instinct: you think deeply about user experience and developer experience, not just code correctness. You'll ground decisions in actual customer use-cases, measure impact, seek feedback, and iterate relentlessly.
Key responsibilities include building and shipping core product surfaces end-to-end, designing features that make LiveKit obvious and powerful, engaging directly with developers to understand pain points, moving quickly from prototype to production, and contributing to technical and product strategy.
You bring 6+ years of engineering experience with a strong track record shipping end-to-end product work. You're fluent in TypeScript and modern web frameworks, comfortable with Go, and have built user-facing software that developers actually adopted. Experience with robotics dashboards and interfaces is valued. You have strong product sense, comfort with ambiguity, and excellent communication skills. Genuine excitement about physical AI and robotics is essential.
Nice-to-haves include developer platform/SDK/CLI experience, production distributed systems expertise, hands-on hardware or robotics background, open source contributions, and experience with realtime, audio/video, or AI tooling.
