Watershed is an enterprise sustainability platform used by companies like Airbnb, Carlyle Group, FedEx, Visa, and Dr. Martens to manage climate and ESG data, produce audit-ready metrics for voluntary and regulatory reporting (including CSRD), and drive real decarbonization.
The Financial Institutions team customizes the Watershed platform for Asset Managers, Banks, Portfolio Companies, and similar organizations. This involves modeling finance-specific entities like portfolios, assets, and holdings; calculating data quality metrics such as PCAF scores; and supporting customer reporting on financial regulations like SFDR.
In this Senior Product Engineer role, you will own frontend architecture and lead the team on UI/UX topics. Key responsibilities include:
- Write performant, well-crafted, tested, and maintainable code across the technical stack
- Own frontend architecture, planning ahead to enable the team to build quickly without compromising quality
- Collaborate with Design and Design Engineering teams to deliver beautiful, clear, and consistent customer experiences
- Lead the team on UI/UX topics, supporting others to build skills in your areas of expertise
- Champion design principles like "smart defaults but you decide" and "connected and familiar"
- Mentor others and raise the bar on frontend quality by leading by example
You should have 6+ years of software engineering experience with specialism in building UI/UX for complex applications. You are a true frontend specialist but willing to go full-stack when needed. You have a track record of raising engineering standards through mentorship and example.
The role is based in New York City with an expectation to be in office 4 days per week. Watershed has hub offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Mexico City, plus satellite offices in Denver, Sydney, Paris, and Berlin.
