Salary: USD 157,000 - 208,000 / annual

As a Senior Product Engineer, you'll own full-stack development across multiple product areas critical to Stepful's mission. Your responsibilities span: building an advanced Learning Management System with seamless UX, adaptive learning, gamification, and peer engagement; developing innovative career services platforms that match graduates with clinical partners using generative AI; creating internal tools for instructors, TAs, and coaches to optimize student outcomes; scaling content management systems that generate and adapt curricula; and building reliable data pipelines that empower data-driven decision-making across the organization.
You'll work with React and TypeScript on the frontend, and your backend stack options include Python, Node.js, or Ruby on Rails. This role requires 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience with demonstrated ability to own the entire development lifecycle. You should be comfortable solving complex problems with cutting-edge technology, eager to learn continuously, and excited by the early-stage startup environment. Prior experience in direct-to-consumer startups or EdTech/Healthcare is a plus.
The interview process includes a recruiter screen, a 2.45-hour technical round (full-stack coding exercise, coding challenge, and technical interview with the hiring manager), and a 1.5-hour onsite. Compensation is $157,000–$208,000 base salary (no bonus structure), plus meaningful equity (ISOs), subsidized health insurance, 401(k), FSA/HSA, commuter benefits, 15 days PTO guidance, 15 work-from-anywhere days, and 10 observed public holidays.
