Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join its manufacturing engineering team in Pueblo, CO. This is an onsite role reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, responsible for owning the complete process lifecycle for solid rocket motors and energetic materials—from early development and feasibility assessment through scale-up, process qualification, and production readiness. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of hands-on process or manufacturing engineering experience and will serve as a technical anchor within Voyager Energetics. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing manufacturing processes, procedures, tooling, and systems that meet stringent safety, quality, performance, and reliability standards. You will lead the transition of energetic manufacturing processes from development and pilot scale to full production, defining process controls, qualification criteria, and production readiness gates. You will implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, reliability, cost, and throughput. This includes developing and reporting on key performance metrics such as yield, defect rates, and cycle time. You will create, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, process specifications, and technical documentation to production standards. Additional responsibilities include preparing technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders to support planning, budgeting, process reviews, and program milestones. You will mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians in process engineering fundamentals, safe handling of energetic materials, and manufacturing best practices. Strong first-principles thinking and a mentorship orientation are essential. Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Materials Science, or related engineering discipline with 7 years of process/manufacturing engineering experience (or Master's with 5 years, or 11 years without degree). Demonstrated experience leading process development and scale-up from feasibility through production qualification is required. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven ability to implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies with measurable results, and experience with structured root cause analysis (8D, fishbone, 5-Why). Strong data analysis skills, self-starter mentality, and demonstrated commitment to safety culture are essential.
