Graphcore, a SoftBank Group company and leader in AI compute hardware and infrastructure, is seeking a Senior Principal Test Framework Software Engineer to design and build robust test automation solutions for its AI hardware platforms. You will develop scalable automation frameworks that translate complex hardware specifications into comprehensive test solutions, enabling efficient validation across development and production environments. Working closely with hardware, systems, and product engineering teams, you'll ensure high-quality validation of sophisticated AI systems and drive hardware quality and reliability. Key responsibilities include: - Design, implement, and extend test automation frameworks for hardware qualification and validation - Translate hardware specifications into scalable, maintainable automated test suites - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test coverage meets product and quality requirements - Debug and troubleshoot issues in automation frameworks across diverse environments and platforms - Develop tooling to process, analyze, and visualize test data for actionable insights - Optimize test execution efficiency and improve validation methodologies - Communicate technical status, risks, and insights to engineering stakeholders You bring 10–15+ years of experience in automation systems, test frameworks, or infrastructure, with strong proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages. You have deep expertise with Linux/Unix environments and hardware testing frameworks, and a proven track record building scalable, maintainable, and reliable automation systems. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field is required. Desirable qualifications include experience with test orchestration systems, CI/CD pipelines, Git, AI hardware or embedded systems, and integrating automated testing into manufacturing or deployment systems.
