OneTrust is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead the technical design and development of its AI Governance platform. This role focuses on building scalable, secure, and observable systems that enable enterprises to deploy and govern AI and LLM-powered applications responsibly.
Key responsibilities include:
**Development & Architecture**
- Lead design and development of Java/Python microservices and shared libraries that integrate with AI platforms for OneTrust's AI Governance product
- Design, build, and test cloud-native applications deployed on Microsoft Azure using Core Java, REST, and the Spring ecosystem
- Build features with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), agent workflows, and model orchestration
- Own technical design for critical systems, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability
- Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation
**Technical Leadership**
- Serve as a technical leader and architect for the AI Governance platform
- Deeply understand how customers build, deploy, and operate AI systems, translating those needs into secure, compliant, and observable platform capabilities
- Guide and mentor engineers on the team through technical decisions and best practices
- Drive innovation in AI governance, compliance, and responsible AI deployment
**Collaboration**
- Work cross-functionally with product, security, and customer teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap planning
- Participate in architecture reviews and technical discussions
The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Java/Python backend development, cloud-native architectures, microservices, and ideally exposure to AI/ML systems, LLM integrations, or governance platforms. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll both architect solutions and contribute code.
