dcbel is a residential clean energy company designing and selling hardware and software products that enable decentralized energy consumption and production. The flagship product, dcbel Ara, is a Home Energy Station that integrates solar power, EV charging, home power, and grid services (V2H/V2G) with battery backup and blackout protection. You will design and develop power electronics for dcbel's suite of products as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer. Your responsibilities include end-to-end ownership of power electronics converter hardware—from specification and design through prototype development, reliability validation, and high-volume manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with electronics, mechanical, and firmware engineering teams to design, validate, and manufacture power converters. You will actively support the certification process, including testing and troubleshooting. You bring 8+ years of hands-on hardware experience in power converter design (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC). You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's or PhD preferred). You have deep expertise in high-bandwidth power semiconductor selection (Si/SiC/GaN MOSFETs), gate drive and protection circuit design, and UL/CE electrical safety requirements and EMC compliance. You understand analog/digital circuit design, microprocessor integration, and PCB layout optimization for minimal stray inductance, manufacturability, and EMC. You are proficient in power electronics topologies, thermal design, magnetics, and capacitor selection. You are comfortable with Altium Designer and laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators). Bonus experience includes grid-tied photovoltaic inverter design (UL 1741SA/SB) and bi-directional DC EV charger design (UL 9741, UL 2231). You are entrepreneurial, autonomous, a strong learner and communicator, and a collaborative problem-solver. The role offers competitive benefits including health insurance, virtual care, employee stock options, flexible hours, and convenient parking near Metro Namur.
