Kin Insurance is seeking a Senior Policy Forms Analyst to lead forms drafting for personal auto or property lines of business. You will own the base forms architecture, drive new state packages from research through filing with attorney review, and establish drafting standards for the team. This is a critical-path role: new states cannot launch until their complete form sets are drafted.
You will work within the Legal & Compliance team, reporting to the Senior Insurance Counsel. Your responsibilities include:
- Independently draft complete new state and product forms packages (base policies, endorsements, state amendatory endorsements, required notices) ready for filing
- Research state statutes and regulations directly and translate them into compliant, clear policy language
- Build and maintain countrywide base forms and reusable state kits for your assigned line
- Draft responses to Department of Insurance objections and participate in regulatory discussions
- Establish drafting standards and reusable templates that accelerate future state packages
- Serve as backup drafter for other lines of business to ensure no launch depends on a single person
- Evaluate and apply AI-assisted research and drafting tools, using human judgment to assess output and identify improvements
- Maintain and update forms packages in response to new statutes, regulations, product enhancements, and coverage changes
- Lead internal knowledge sharing on Kin's policy forms in your line of business
Kin is a remote-first, venture-backed insurtech company founded in 2016, focused on making homeowners insurance simpler and more affordable. The company has achieved profitability, strong unit economics, and recognition including Forbes Fintech 50 (2023–2026) and Built In Chicago's Best Places to Work (2021–2026). You'll be joining a disciplined, growing company with offices in Chicago and St. Petersburg but fully remote work capability.
Success in your first year means delivering multiple complete state and product forms packages, becoming the go-to SME on Kin's policy forms in your line, enabling the team to meet filing deadlines even with coverage gaps, and establishing reusable templates actively used by the team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of policy form drafting experience
- Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states
- Experience reading state insurance statutes and regulations directly and converting requirements into policy language
- Experience drafting responses to regulator objections on form filings
- Track record of drafting complete forms packages independently, with attorney review as the only check
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex or ambiguous statutory requirements with minimal guidance
Bonus experience: personal auto (UM/UIM, PIP, selection and rejection forms, state notices) or property (homeowners, condo, manufactured home, flood, surplus lines notices).
