The company is mass-producing advanced satellite platforms for missions from low Earth orbit to deep space, capitalizing on the shift from mass constraints to mass abundance enabled by modern heavy-lift launch vehicles.
The Enterprise Information Systems team builds the digital backbone powering K2's satellite design, manufacturing, and mission operations. This role focuses on platform engineering and developer experience (DevX), creating tools and abstractions that connect engineering, production, and mission control into a seamless ecosystem.
As Senior Platform Engineer, you will design and implement self-service integration capabilities for Amazon EKS, including scoped segmentation, governed namespaces, automated workload scaling, multi-tenancy, and adaptive ingress/egress. Key responsibilities include building consistent application deployment processes that support both general and specialized development, establishing AI guardrails and governance, and creating a golden path development model that accelerates application go-live with low-friction platform adoption.
You will engineer resilient traffic paths with timeouts, retries, circuit breaking, and failure isolation, hardened through chaos testing and automated remediation. You'll drive observability standards ensuring end-to-end visibility across environments (source, identity, route, outcome, saturation, cost) and provide approachable documentation and diagnostics to shorten support loops.
Additional focus areas include optimizing performance and cost (latency budgets, cross-AZ transfer, IP consumption, load balancer efficiency), stewarding code lifecycle with versioning and safe migrations, and mentoring engineers to embed application abstractions into golden paths. You'll partner with adjacent teams to raise organizational fluency and consistency, and build automated policies ensuring good code deployment practices.
