The enterprise software team builds the digital backbone powering K2's satellite design, manufacturing, and mission operations. This team develops tools that connect engineering, production, and mission control into a seamless ecosystem, enabling hardware to move from concept to orbit faster than ever before.
As a Senior Platform Engineer on the Enterprise Information Systems team, you will design, implement, and deliver on the platform roadmap. You'll work closely with talented engineers, architects, and senior stakeholders to build the infrastructure that enables the company's rapid growth and scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building consistent application patterns to deploy to Amazon EKS, enabling both AI-assisted general application development and specialized application development work
- Promoting AI adoption in a secure and consistent model while supporting AI operational needs
- Establishing AI guardrails, observability, and governance within the context of software development
- Distilling application development best practices into repeatable, low-friction patterns that enable engineers from multiple backgrounds to build high-quality applications and services
- Delivering work with excellence including readable code, automated tests, clear documentation, consistent maintenance, and polished observability
- Understanding manufacturing domain functionality, service identity, and secure communication with an ability to simplify them
- Ensuring resilience and reliability in production operations and upgrades
The ideal candidate practices surgical precision in feature development, delivering high value while avoiding complexity that delays or bloats systems. You should have strong technical skills and empathy for fellow engineers, with the ability to understand and simplify complex manufacturing and infrastructure concepts.
