Precisely is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to lead security tooling and enablement within Platform Engineering for their global SaaS environment. This individual contributor role focuses on building platforms, automation, and guardrails that help engineering teams adopt security requirements in practical, scalable ways across the software development lifecycle.
You will work at the intersection of Security, Platform Engineering, and development teams. The Security team defines policies and standards; Platform Engineering enables and enforces them through engineering solutions. You'll lead proofs of concept, drive initiatives, and turn complex problems into clear, executable solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead security tooling across application security, dependency and supply chain security, artifact and container security, and cloud security posture
- Build, integrate, and operate tools such as GitHub Advanced Security, JFrog Xray, Prisma, Black Duck, and Checkmarx
- Design automation for vulnerability detection, dependency hygiene, patch planning, and remediation tracking
- Partner with Security and Engineering teams to turn policies into practical controls and developer-friendly workflows
- Improve developer experience by reducing noise and improving remediation clarity
- Drive security-focused initiatives and OKR efforts by defining technical approaches and leading execution
- Support health and improvement of security tooling, including internally built or AI-assisted automation
- Work with operational teams on secure adoption of AI-enabled engineering tools
Required qualifications:
- 2+ years in security engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or production software engineering
- Strong programming/scripting in Go, Python, Bash, or similar languages
- Hands-on experience with security tooling: code scanning, dynamic testing, software composition analysis, secret scanning, container scanning, artifact security, CSPM, policy enforcement
- Experience with GitHub Advanced Security, JFrog Xray, Prisma, Black Duck, Checkmarx, Dependabot, Renovate, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management and security controls in software delivery
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, cloud platforms, Git workflows, and infrastructure as code
- Ability to lead technical initiatives and deliver solutions from ambiguous requirements
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
