Linx Security is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their core platform team. This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on designing and building the foundational systems, frameworks, and architectural abstractions that enable the entire engineering organization to scale securely and efficiently.
You will work on backend services, developer-facing frameworks, shared libraries, SDKs, and core platform capabilities that other engineers depend on. Key responsibilities include leading large-scale architectural initiatives such as optimizing the data layer and transitioning toward distributed, high-performance storage architectures; designing and maintaining internal libraries that standardize interactions with critical infrastructure including messaging systems, databases, and workflow orchestration platforms like Temporal; owning the reliability and optimization of asynchronous communication and streaming layers across a microservices ecosystem; identifying and resolving systemic performance bottlenecks to make systems faster and more resilient under heavy load; and building "golden paths" and abstractions that make complex infrastructure easy and safe for backend engineers to use.
This is explicitly not a DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure operations role. The primary focus is software design and development rather than operating infrastructure, managing CI/CD pipelines, or administering Kubernetes clusters.
Required qualifications include extensive experience building production-grade backend systems in modern programming languages (Python, Go, Node.js, Java, Kotlin, or similar), with hands-on experience designing and operating cloud-native applications on AWS. You should have deep expertise in distributed streaming or messaging systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub, or similar) and understand messaging patterns. Experience with various database technologies and building middleware/wrappers between data and applications is essential. You must have demonstrated success in high-scale production environments where performance and reliability are critical, with the ability to design systems for the scale anticipated in two years. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field is required (or equivalent military/industry experience).
