Kojo is a fast-growing construction technology company founded in 2018, transforming how commercial construction companies buy materials. The construction industry spends $10 trillion annually, yet material procurement—which represents up to 40% of project costs—has seen minimal innovation in 70 years. Kojo is modernizing this space.
We're seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build the infrastructure tooling, golden paths, and self-service abstractions that enable product teams to move fast. This is a software engineering role with infrastructure specialization, not a traditional SRE position. You'll combine strong software engineering fundamentals with deep infrastructure expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Infrastructure as Code: managing typed component resources, factories, and multi-environment stacks using Pulumi (TypeScript) and Terraform
- EKS platform: Karpenter autoscaling, GitOps delivery via ArgoCD, Kargo, and Helm
- CI/CD pipelines and release automation using GitHub Actions
- Developer experience tooling and AI-driven development workflows (skills, hooks, MCP servers, managed agents)
- Observability, network and edge security, SOC 1 and SOC 2 compliance automation
Tech stack: AWS + EKS, Pulumi, Terraform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Kargo, Helm, Aurora PostgreSQL, Prisma, Slonik, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, OpenTelemetry, Datadog.
Required qualifications: strong AWS services knowledge, JavaScript/TypeScript/Node expertise, parallel programming, PostgreSQL and ORM optimization (Prisma, Slonik), NoSQL databases (Redis, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch), system design and microservice architecture, message brokers, infrastructure as code, RESTful APIs, production Kubernetes/EKS experience, observability standards, network segmentation, edge and network security, GitHub Actions, and AI-driven development tools (Claude, Codex, Cursor).
Nice-to-have: GraphQL, gRPC, GitOps expertise, cloud certifications, security tooling, SRE practices, FinOps, compliance automation.
