inKind is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own, evolve, and operate the cloud infrastructure foundation for a growing financial and hospitality technology platform. This is a deeply technical, hands-on role reporting to the Director of Engineering with real ownership over system design, implementation, and operation. You will design and maintain AWS infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, and managed services. Key responsibilities include owning platform-level architectural decisions (e.g., EKS vs ECS, Redis vs Valkey migrations), designing safe and observable deployment pipelines, leading incident response for infrastructure failures, and establishing standards and best practices as the team scales. The role requires expertise in high-availability system design, infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation), containerized workloads and orchestration, and production incident debugging. You'll partner closely with application engineers to ensure platform capabilities are well understood, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor other platform engineers. You should be an infrastructure owner who takes accountability for production systems, a systems thinker who understands compute/storage/networking interactions under load, and a pragmatic operator who balances modernization with stability. Security awareness is essential—designing with least privilege, network isolation, and secure defaults. Strong communication skills are required to explain infrastructure decisions and risk to both engineers and leadership. Minimum qualifications: 8+ years building and operating production infrastructure in cloud environments, deep AWS expertise (EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, RDS, ElastiCache, ALB/NLB, CloudWatch), proven experience designing high-availability and fault-tolerant systems, hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience, and demonstrated ability to plan and execute safe infrastructure migrations. Preferred: experience with financial systems or other high-reliability domains, scaling infrastructure through rapid growth, and strong observability practices.
