The Platform-as-a-Service Engineering team builds the foundational infrastructure—the "Paved Road"—that enables product teams to ship with velocity and safety. The stack is built on AWS, EKS, and ArgoCD, with a strategic shift toward agentic AI systems. Rather than manual configuration, the platform is evolving to use AI-augmented orchestration where systems anticipate developer needs and self-heal through intelligent automation.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will design, build, and operate agentic systems and core infrastructure powering the platform. You'll work across Kubernetes (AWS EKS), GitOps (Argo CD), CI/CD (GitHub Actions), and the developer portal (Cortex). Key responsibilities include:
• Design and build production AI agents following governance patterns for model selection, evaluation, and safety. Treat prompts, tools, and evaluation criteria as versioned, reviewed code.
• Implement agentic patterns for cloud infrastructure, mentor junior engineers on LLM integration and prompt engineering, and refine team best practices.
• Operate high-availability distributed systems on AWS, identify and resolve performance/scalability issues, and use AI-driven observability for early problem detection.
• Contribute to evolving Cortex (the developer control plane) as an AI-augmented self-service platform, enabling engineers to scaffold services and resolve issues via natural language.
• Document agentic architecture and operational procedures; participate in on-call rotations and use post-mortems to improve reliability.
You should have 4+ years in cloud infrastructure on large-scale, high-availability, customer-facing distributed systems. Hands-on production experience building and operating AI-driven systems—particularly agentic workflows for operational tasks—is essential. You should be able to discuss specific agent designs or automation you've built. Experience reducing operational toil through agentic AI (e.g., LLM-powered incident diagnosis, intelligent CI/CD) is required. Strong AWS knowledge (EKS, Lambda, Bedrock) and container orchestration experience are expected. A Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field is required.
The role is ideally hybrid from the Mexico City office as part of the expanding site, though remote can be considered. EarnIn offers healthcare, internet/cell reimbursement, learning stipends, and travel opportunities to the Mountain View headquarters.
