Bestow is a vertical technology platform serving major life insurers, modernizing a centuries-old industry through AI-powered infrastructure. The company enables carriers to launch products in weeks instead of years by unifying fragmented legacy systems.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll own the implementation of technical projects that improve platform scalability, reliability, and developer experience. You'll independently execute scoped initiatives, automate infrastructure, and build internal tools that help product teams move faster and safer.
Key responsibilities include:
**Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps**: Implement and evolve infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or Pulumi. Automate and monitor Kubernetes-based platforms and CI/CD pipelines. Contribute to infrastructure tooling that improves repeatability, safety, and visibility.
**Developer Productivity**: Build CLI tools, shared libraries, and scripts to accelerate development workflows. Resolve developer friction by improving build/test/deploy loops. Help define standards for service configuration, secrets management, and app-level observability.
**Platform Resilience**: Implement dashboards, alerts, and runbooks for services owned by platform engineering. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and follow-up improvements. Propose and prototype changes to improve availability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
You'll collaborate closely with other platform engineers and cross-functional stakeholders, applying engineering judgment to deliver clean, maintainable solutions. As you grow, you'll take on ownership of more complex systems and influence architectural choices and team processes.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of professional experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure). Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools, CI/CD workflows, and at least one scripting/programming language (Go, Python, Bash, TypeScript). Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes. Experience utilizing AI agents (e.g., Claude Code) for engineering tasks. Strong communication, ownership, and collaboration skills. Version control and code review experience.
