Kaseya is seeking a Senior Platform Backend Engineer to build and operate core backend services for the Kaseya Intelligence Platform. This hands-on role focuses on designing and implementing distributed systems in Go or Rust that power workflow execution, identity management, event routing, secrets management, and audit infrastructure.
You will independently own complex, production-critical services used by engineering teams and AI-driven workloads. Key responsibilities include building event-driven integrations using Kafka and Temporal to convert webhooks and platform events into durable workflows; implementing secrets management and KMS abstraction supporting multiple cloud providers and customer-level cryptographic isolation; developing authentication and authorization services enforcing fine-grained capability grants; and owning GitOps-based deployment pipelines for versioned workflow definitions across isolated customer environments.
Additional ownership areas include building secure connector services for third-party APIs with scoped access and audit logging, developing onboarding automation for identity provisioning and compliance configuration, and ensuring production reliability through monitoring, distributed tracing, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of backend software engineering with production Go or Rust experience; hands-on experience building event-driven systems with Kafka or similar technologies; expertise in authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, machine identity, fine-grained access controls); experience implementing encryption and key-management solutions; and demonstrated ability operating multi-tenant production services with structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
Preferred experience includes Temporal or durable workflow orchestration platforms, identity platform integration (Zitadel, Keycloak, Auth0, Okta), columnar data stores like ClickHouse, GitOps and Kubernetes, MSP/PSA/RMM API integration, compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, CMMC), and cloud platform development (AWS, Azure, GCP).
