Salary: USD 140,000 - 160,000 / annual
Halo Industries has developed a revolutionary laser-based technology to replace a decades-old semiconductor material slicing process. The company, founded in 2014 at Stanford University, is well-funded and transitioning from R&D focus to production manufacturing. This role is critical to that evolution.
As Senior NPI Project Manager, you will lead the transition of equipment manufacturing from the R&D engineering team to the NPI (New Product Introduction) equipment build team. You will manage the end-to-end coordination of equipment builds, knowledge transfer, and deployment into production at Halo's international volume fabrication facilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage detailed project schedules, risk registers, and status reports for equipment builds
- Define project deliverables for NPI engineers, allocate and track tasks, and closely monitor progress
- Proactively identify and overcome obstacles to timely equipment delivery and knowledge transfer through hands-on involvement with the NPI engineering team
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to transfer knowledge, processes, and documents between R&D and NPI teams
- Manage the NPI technical writing team's development of all required transfer documentation
- Drive PLM phase gate readiness for product design and production release
- Aid in determining product and system requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in NPI processes, equipment, and tooling
- Coordinate equipment bringup at international volume fabrication facilities
- Present project status to management and participate in strategic planning
You will work in a dynamic, fast-growing environment where you can make a direct impact on scaling a transformative semiconductor technology. The role requires hands-on leadership of a team of 5-10 NPI engineers and close collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, and executive stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years of NPI project management experience for complex engineering systems, preferably in semiconductor industry
- Demonstrated experience transitioning products from prototype to production/manufacturing scale
- Experience leading teams of 5-10 NPI engineers
- High proficiency with modern project management tools and collaborative productivity tools
- Strong detail-oriented organizational skills
- Strong technical communication skills with ability to lead and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work effectively in highly dynamic environment where priorities and schedules change
- Ownership mentality with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to build and sustain cooperative working relationships with managers, colleagues, and external partners
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Arena PLM, Jira, Confluence, and Google Workspace applications (particularly Google Sheets)
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP)
- Experience in startup environments
