Salary: USD 182,000 - 230,000 / annual
Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries including food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, and manufacturing to deploy intelligent systems at scale.
As Senior New Production Introduction (NPI) Engineer, you will lead the transition of robotic systems from prototype to production. You'll work closely with design engineers, manufacturing teams, and operations to ensure hardware products scale reliably and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with design engineers and technicians on prototype builds, identifying issues and feeding learnings back into design
- Plan and execute pilot builds, driving insights into the design process
- Develop Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes, including field retrofit procedures
- Partner with operations teams to roll out hardware updates to deployed systems
- Create assembly, installation, and test documentation for internal and external audiences
- Design customer-facing kits using engineering BOMs, including packaging and consumables
- Update test procedures and fixtures as products evolve, maintaining test coverage
- Define production readiness criteria and own the handoff to steady-state manufacturing
- Work with manufacturing to design scalable workstations, procedures, and instructions
- Specify and partner on assembly and test fixture design
You bring 3+ years of hands-on NPI and ECO implementation experience, ideally from robotics, autonomous vehicles, or automotive sectors. You've scaled hardware products from prototype to production, managed engineering changes on deployed products, and are proficient with PLM systems (Arena, Windchill, Agile, 3Dx). You have strong DFA/DFM knowledge, CAD expertise (SolidWorks), and experience with schematics and harness documentation tools. A mechanical, manufacturing, or related engineering degree is required.
