Valar Atomics is seeking a hands-on Senior Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network security infrastructure. This role focuses heavily on Palo Alto Networks firewall administration, secure remote access via GlobalProtect VPN, cloud connectivity across Azure and AWS, and network access control for wired, wireless, and IoT devices.
Key responsibilities include:
• Configure and manage Palo Alto Networks firewall security policies, NAT rules, and threat prevention profiles
• Design and implement secure remote access solutions using GlobalProtect VPN for hybrid and remote workforces
• Establish cloud connectivity and security posture across Azure and AWS environments
• Implement network access control (NAC) for wired, wireless, and IoT devices using certificate-based authentication (TLS/802.1X)
• Manage endpoint security, camera systems, and IoT device authentication
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analysis of network infrastructure
• Develop and maintain network security documentation and runbooks
• Collaborate with IT operations and security teams to ensure compliance and incident response
• Monitor network traffic and security events; respond to threats and anomalies
• Stay current with emerging security threats and best practices
The ideal candidate combines deep firewall and routing expertise with practical experience securing endpoints, cameras, and IoT devices through certificate-based authentication. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where autonomy and ownership are valued. Experience with advanced nuclear or industrial control systems is a plus but not required.
