Salary: USD 184,000 - 208,000 / annual
Muon Space, a LEO satellite constellation provider founded in 2021, seeks a Senior Network Security Engineer to design, secure, and operate the networks and cloud environments supporting their fast-growing aerospace operations. This is a full-time, onsite role based in San Jose, CA (5 days/week).
You will own network security across the entire infrastructure stack, including Cisco Meraki networking, Cloudflare edge and zero-trust services, and cloud platforms (AWS and GCP). Key responsibilities include designing and implementing secure network architectures across on-premises and cloud environments; administering Cisco Meraki infrastructure (switching, wireless, security appliances, SD-WAN); managing Cloudflare services for edge security, DNS, WAF, and DDoS protection; architecting network security controls in AWS and GCP with VPC design, segmentation, and firewalls; monitoring and responding to network security events; implementing secure remote access and zero-trust solutions; and defining network segmentation and access controls to protect controlled data (CUI, EAR, ITAR).
You will partner closely with IT, Security, and engineering teams to align network security with compliance, operational, and business requirements. The role requires a seasoned professional who can work proactively with minimal supervision and navigate the unique compliance landscape of government-adjacent aerospace operations.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of network engineering and/or network security experience; hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki environments; experience with Cloudflare services (WARP, WAF, DNS, DDoS, Zero Trust); cloud network security in AWS and GCP; strong fundamentals in firewalls, segmentation, VPN, and zero-trust architectures; and familiarity with network monitoring, logging, and incident detection/response.
Nice-to-have: U.S. Government program support experience, CUI/EAR/ITAR data handling experience, relevant certifications (Cisco, Cloudflare, AWS/GCP security), or active/eligible U.S. security clearance.
Compensation: $184,000–$208,000 annually, plus equity and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, disability, life insurance, 3 weeks PTO, 12 paid holidays, unlimited sick time, paid parental leave).
