Airwallex is a unified payments and financial platform serving over 250,000 global businesses. As a Senior Network Engineer in Infrastructure, you'll be a key member of the infrastructure team responsible for building and maintaining Airwallex's globally distributed network architecture.
You will design and deploy the company's global cloud footprint, aligning network requirements to regional demands across multiple data centers and cloud regions. Your responsibilities include building the foundations of a new corporate network, designing team structure for future growth, and maintaining highly available and secure production infrastructure spanning LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud environments.
Key responsibilities include configuring on-premises gateway/router/networking hardware globally across mixed vendors, managing international leased lines and domestic internet connections, and owning configuration and troubleshooting of complex network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud environments. You'll act as a first responder for complex network issues, running incidents through to completion with after-action reporting.
You'll collaborate cross-functionally with CorpSec, ProdSec, Engineering, Product, IT Engineering, and Workplace teams to integrate network solutions and support business initiatives. You'll develop comprehensive network documentation, evaluate new networking technologies, and participate in a global on-call rotation for production and infrastructure support.
Required qualifications include CCNP/JNCIP-level experience, demonstrated expertise in multi-vendor networking environments (Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, Aruba), scripting proficiency (Python, Bash), and comfort with declarative infrastructure tools (Terraform, Git CI/CD). You need solid AWS/GCP experience, understanding of BGP and route filtering, command-line configuration expertise, and strong documentation practices. Preferred qualifications include 5+ years in similar roles, Linux expertise, cloud infrastructure experience (Aliyun, Azure), and strong English communication skills.
