Shield AI, a venture-backed defense-tech company, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, architect, and manage complex network infrastructure supporting intelligent autonomous systems and mission-critical operations globally. You will lead network engineering initiatives across Shield AI's distributed infrastructure spanning data centers and remote offices worldwide. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing routing, switching, WLAN, and firewall architectures; deploying secure WAN and VPN connectivity for enterprise and mission environments; and developing network automation solutions using infrastructure-as-code practices. You'll architect hybrid cloud connectivity solutions linking on-premises systems with Azure and AWS environments, leveraging secure connectivity models like ExpressRoute and Transit Gateway. On the operations side, you'll plan and execute network changes following change-management and security governance processes, continuously monitor and optimize network performance and security posture, and provide advanced troubleshooting for complex network issues. You'll configure and maintain secure connectivity services (VPN/ZTNA, HTTPS, SFTP), create operational documentation, mentor operational teams, and engage vendors for escalated support and technology evaluations. You'll participate in on-call rotations and lead network upgrades within maintenance windows. Required: 6+ years supporting complex production network systems; expertise in routing, switching, and security architectures; proficiency in at least one Network OS (NX-OS, JunOS, Arista EOS) and one Network Security OS (PAN-OS, FortiOS); hands-on experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, Python); strong firewall, segmentation, and VPN knowledge; excellent troubleshooting and communication skills; and a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional certification (CCNP, JNCIS, VCP-NV). Experience building scalable hybrid infrastructure connectivity is essential. Preferred: Juniper and Palo Alto expertise with Panorama; WLAN and 802.1x/RADIUS knowledge; NAC and ZTNA/SASE solutions experience (Prisma, Zscaler, Cato); virtualization or OS administration background; demonstrated project management and leadership; and a collaborative, solution-driven mindset in fast-paced environments.
