Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The Materials and NDE (Non-Destructive Evaluation) team plays a central role in enabling Terran R to fly, re-fly, and scale by developing, characterizing, and inspecting materials and processes across all parts of the vehicle. As Senior NDE Specialist for Immersion Ultrasonic Testing, you will serve as the primary point-of-contact for IUT technique development efforts and continuous improvement campaigns. You will work closely with other UT Specialists, UT Level 2 & 3 Inspectors, and NDE Engineers to develop and execute feasibility studies, POD analyses, and qualification plans. Key responsibilities include: - Evaluating acquired IUT data in accordance with specified acceptance criteria - Engaging in proactive mentorship and providing training and oversight for less experienced inspectors - Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders regarding inspection results and process improvement opportunities - Developing and publishing part-specific IUT techniques for complex parts and planning/programming automated IUT inspections - Working with vendors to troubleshoot and maintain equipment - Demonstrating in-depth comprehension and effective application of relevant NDE inspection plans, procedures, and techniques You will gain broad exposure across design, manufacturing, and operations, with ownership across products, systems, and disciplines. This is an opportunity to shape how Relativity designs and develops for reuse as the company moves toward first flight and beyond. **Requirements:** - Current ASNT Level 3 certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT/PAUT/IUT per NAS 410, SNT-TC-1A or equivalent) with documentation - Minimum 3 years acting in a Level 3 capacity for Immersion Ultrasonic Testing of aerospace propulsion part families in various materials and geometries - Extensive (5+ years) verifiable experience as a UT Level 3 in an aerospace setting or equivalent highly regulated industry - Experience contributing to system design and qualification efforts for aerospace customers (Boeing, NASA, DoD, Space Force, etc.) - Deep knowledge and integrated relationships with immersion tank vendors, with knowledge of industry standards (NASA, AMS, AWS/ASME, ASTM, etc.) - Experience auditing 3rd Party NDE Vendors - Strong working knowledge of Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and familiarity with associated emerging reconstruction algorithms (FMC, TFM, PCI, PWI) - Extensive and verifiable experience analyzing inspection data to specific acceptance criteria and reading/interpreting engineering work instructions and drawings - Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) **Nice to have:** - BS or MS in a STEM field - Experience with CAD - Experience with QA/QC and/or Lean Manufacturing concepts and applications
