Beacon Biosignals is transforming precision medicine for the brain through at-home EEG platforms and diagnostics. As a Senior Mobile App Engineer, you'll develop cross-platform mobile applications (React Native, iOS, Android) that interface with EEG headbands and wearables to capture high-fidelity neurological data and enable seamless experiences for patients and clinicians.
You'll be part of a small, mission-driven Mobile Apps Team responsible for the full lifecycle of mobile experiences in a regulated healthcare environment. Key responsibilities include developing React Native applications and native iOS/Android BLE device SDKs, designing UX workflows for clinical trial participants and at-home diagnostic patients, and owning the user experience, performance, reliability, and observability of features you build. You'll partner closely with the Devices team, Platform teams, and product designers to develop user-centric capabilities integrated with Beacon's broader product ecosystem, and help shape the technical direction of the mobile platform.
In your first 3–6 months, you might build features to validate EEG signal quality, improve BLE pairing and reconnection reliability across platforms, streamline patient and trial participant onboarding, and deploy compliance-tracking features for Clinical Operations.
You bring 8+ years of mobile development experience (native iOS/Android and/or React Native), with experience working with BLE, sensor integration, or health data streams. You have a strong product mindset focused on UX, edge cases, and performance. Familiarity with the tech stack (TypeScript, React Native, Swift, Kotlin, Expo, GitHub) and strong async communication skills are essential. Bonus experience includes medical devices, EEG, wearables, native iOS/Android development alongside React Native, clinical trial apps, regulated environments, or open-source mobile/BLE contributions.
Beacon maintains robust asynchronous work practices with office hubs in Boston and New York. This role is flexible for candidates anywhere in the US Eastern time zone.
