Fin is an AI Customer Agent company building the highest-performing AI customer support agent on the market. The AI Group is responsible for defining new ML products, researching algorithms and technologies, and rapidly prototyping solutions that reach customers. The team of 50+ ML scientists, engineers, designers and researchers operates with a product-first mindset, shipping to beta within weeks of successful offline testing. The group has productized everything from supervised models to cutting-edge transformer networks and fine-tuned LLMs, with rigorous measurement of real customer impact.
You will manage a team of 10+ ML scientists spread across Dublin, London, and Berlin offices. This is a hands-on management role: while you won't code daily, you'll provide technical guidance, review work, and maintain deep understanding of what the team should prioritize. You'll collaborate with ML, engineering, product, and design leaders to shape team impact on products. You'll enable high productivity and reliability, expand the team, and build its brand internally and externally through recruitment and events.
Required: 5+ years of individual ML/AI/NLP contributions with a track record of leading ML teams that deliver impact quickly. You need excellent applied ML and coding skills, comfort in ambiguous environments with autonomy, strong communication across technical and non-technical audiences, and an MSc or PhD in an ML-related field or equivalent knowledge.
Bonus: experience shipping ML user-facing products, research environment background, deep expertise in NLP, deep learning, Bayesian methods, reinforcement learning or clustering, data visualization and SQL skills, strong software engineering practices knowledge, and ML scientist recruitment experience.
