Adelphi Data is building the largest AI deployment company for national security. The company has grown 10x in under two years and works directly with senior leaders at the Department of War and Intelligence Community.
As a Senior ML Engineer, you will own end-to-end delivery of agentic, full-stack systems built on frontier models, from prototype to stable production. You'll be embedded alongside defense and intelligence customers, solving real-world warfighting, intelligence, and enterprise bottlenecks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own end-to-end delivery of agentic systems from first prototype to production
- Build and deploy ML services leveraging LLMs, embeddings, RAG, and agent orchestration into production environments (including classified and air-gapped systems)
- Work directly with customers to scope problems, sequence delivery, and ship novel AI applications under real-world constraints
- Provide solutions across the full LLM stack: OS, storage, network, API, and transport layers
- Codify repeatable patterns into reusable tools and building blocks
You are an AI-native engineer who leverages LLMs and AI tooling daily (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot). You're hands-on with modern agent frameworks (LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Claude Agent SDK, AutoGen) and agent evaluation/observability tooling. You understand AI limitations in high-security contexts and know when to trust AI-generated output versus verify manually.
Bonus experience includes infrastructure management (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS), encryption/authentication, Linux systems administration, DevOps/SRE, production agentic services, forward-deployed engineering roles, and federated/privacy-preserving data architectures.
An active U.S. Government security clearance is strongly preferred; clearance-eligible candidates are welcome. Experience in defense or intelligence fields is required. The role is based in DC Metro with 25% travel expected; remote candidates will be considered.
