Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Mission Software Engineer to join the Imaging Interfaces team. This role focuses on fielded system success and production support rather than pure product development. You will own the health and uptime of deployed imaging systems, triaging and resolving issues across the full stack—from bare-metal hardware and firmware to networked services and cloud integrations. The work is varied: you might extend a gRPC service in the morning, diagnose a time-sync issue on a deployed device over the phone with a field operator in the afternoon, and travel to support a customer integration during the week. Key responsibilities include: - Owning fielded system success and driving resolution when issues arise, regardless of root cause (code, firmware, network, or hardware) - Building and maintaining production services that run on edge-compute devices in austere environments - Supporting field operations by working directly with operators and non-technical users to diagnose and resolve deployed hardware issues - Serving as a subject matter expert in integrations with other products and teams, both remotely and on-site - Developing broad fluency across the hardware, firmware, networking, and software stack - Collaborating across firmware, hardware, and platform engineering teams Required qualifications: 5+ years of software development with meaningful production responsibility; strong Python and C++ skills; 5+ years working in Linux-based environments including bare-metal hardware; demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve issues across system boundaries; strong written and verbal communication skills; willingness to travel ~15% for field testing and customer integrations; eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance. Preferred: gRPC or similar RPC framework experience; Linux systems service management and observability practices; React/JSX experience; Nix/NixOS familiarity; experience supporting fielded or deployed systems.
