ICEYE is seeking a Senior Mechanical R&D Test Engineer to lead mechanical assembly, integration, and test (AIT) operations for the company's next-generation optical spacecraft. You will execute qualification and acceptance test campaigns—particularly vibration testing—that validate hardware readiness for launch and space operations. Your responsibilities include designing and building mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE) and satellite-level qualification mass models, leading flight model integration, creating AIT procedures, and transferring knowledge to production teams. A critical aspect of the role is feeding test findings and integration learnings back to design engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through prototyping, and driving design improvements based on those insights.
You will work hands-on with mechanical testing and validation, comfortable executing the work yourself rather than only directing it. The role demands a can-do attitude, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and comfort operating under pressure during intense test campaigns with tight timelines. You must be proficient with CAD tools, able to create and interpret manufacturing drawings, and experienced with vibration testing and mechanical validation of hardware.
