Antares is building mass-producible, inherently safe, deployable microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications, with a mission to make clean energy abundant from Earth to the Asteroid Belt. The company has raised over $600M in venture capital and holds hundreds of millions in contracts with military services, NASA, and the Department of Energy. The team includes veterans from SpaceX, the White House, Pentagon, Department of Energy, MIT, and national laboratories.
As an early member of the supply chain team, you will define and execute the strategic roadmap required to scale from prototyping into full-rate production. You will identify, qualify, and develop suppliers across multiple commodities including machined components, electromechanical systems, controls, shielding, thermal management, and turbomachinery. Key responsibilities include:
- Define strategic roadmaps for select commodities and develop a mature supply base capable of supporting both prototyping and full-rate production
- Identify and onboard suppliers across many commodities
- Engage with engineering and manufacturing teams to review designs and provide design-for-manufacturability feedback in collaboration with suppliers
- Coordinate with quality teams on supplier onboarding, compliance, documentation, nonconformance resolution, and supply chain procedures
- Direct make-versus-buy decisions considering design feedback loops, product function, capital investment, and manufacturing methods
- Create bottoms-up should-cost analyses to support commercial negotiations and supplier evaluation
- Develop performance metrics and reporting to identify and manage critical path items
- Execute near-term actions for prototyping and development hardware to support engineering and testing milestones
The ideal candidate executes well in ambiguous environments, efficiently balances competing priorities, and thrives in a small team tackling complex challenges. You will have the opportunity to influence areas beyond supply chain as the company grows.
