You will work cradle-to-grave on pressurized and unpressurized structures, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams across propulsion, avionics, guidance/navigation/control, loads/dynamics, and thermal disciplines. Key responsibilities include designing, analyzing, building, testing, and documenting innovative structures such as primary structure weldments, tank internal fluid/structural devices, payload attachment fittings, and stage propulsion/avionics integration hardware. You will steer system definition, layout, requirements, and verification activities. You'll support first-article build through production ramp-up in collaboration with manufacturing, incorporating design-for-manufacturability and reliability improvements. You will also support development and qualification test campaigns, creating test plans to gather critical learnings and demonstrate flightworthiness. You will establish driving load cases and environments in collaboration with loads/dynamics and thermal teams, and communicate technical challenges and rationale across partner teams to create high-performing, integrated systems. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 5+ years of demonstrated experience designing and analyzing structural aerospace hardware; strong knowledge of strength and stability hand calculations for structural sizing and model validation; strong understanding of mechanics of materials, material failure modes, and associated analysis methods; familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, welding, forming, and joining methods; proficiency with CAD software and assembly management; demonstrated experience collaborating across teams; and ability to communicate technical challenges and resolve concerns.
