Salary: USD 120,000 - 150,000 / annual
Voyager Technologies is a space, defense, and national security technology company developing mission-critical solutions for advancing human progress and protecting critical assets. This Senior Mechanical Engineer role is part of the Propulsion and Test Department in Mojave, California, reporting to the Structures, Analysis, and Mechanism Manager.
You will lead a team of mechanical engineers responsible for designing, analyzing, and building primary and secondary structures for lunar systems. Key responsibilities include:
• Lead and coordinate a team of mechanical engineers on primary/secondary structure and mechanisms
• Manage day-to-day team tasks and ensure adherence to tools, methods, and best practices
• Review technical deliverables including CAD drawings, structural analysis, and test reports for compliance with standards
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, documenting results and insights
• Design structural and mechanism components, perform analysis for harsh environments (vibration, shock, acoustic), and create supporting documentation
• Manage vendor relationships to procure components while meeting quality, cost, and schedule objectives
• Present programmatic and technical content to stakeholders
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in mechanical or aerospace fields, demonstrated expertise in designing structural and mechanism components, and knowledge of environmental analysis for harsh conditions. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and experience developing hardware for aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicles.
The role requires up to 5% travel within the US and the ability to lift/move equipment up to 50 pounds. This is an onsite or hybrid position based in Mojave.
