Re:Build Fikst, their Wilmington, MA product development and engineering consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead product development initiatives.
In this role, you will serve as a lead technical contributor on cross-functional teams developing innovative products from concept through production. You'll exercise your mechanical design expertise in a consulting environment, leading client communication and project management while coaching junior engineers through technical challenges. Your responsibilities include guiding the product design process, balancing project scope and timelines, and collaborating with scientists, electrical engineers, optical engineers, manufacturing partners, and industrial designers.
You'll work on diverse projects spanning biomedical instruments, microfluidics, specialty plastics, optics, industrial automation, and robotics. The team leverages extensive in-house capabilities including CNCs, 3D printers, waterjet and laser cutters, plus access to a broader network of manufacturing sites offering composites, industrial design, structural analysis, and embedded systems expertise.
Required qualifications: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 8-12 years of industry experience. Strong 3D CAD skills (Solidworks preferred) and broad technical background. Desired experience includes manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, sheet metal, casting), biomedical product design, industrial automation, and consulting backgrounds.
