Re:Build AppliedLogix, part of Re:Build Manufacturing, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Rochester, NY development center. Re:Build operates an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform serving aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy, and robotics sectors, with a mission to revitalize American manufacturing.
In this role, you will lead clean-sheet mechanical design projects for clients across electrification, energy, and mobility industries. Your responsibilities include requirements collection, conceptual design, CAD modeling and detailing in SolidWorks, prototyping, and verification testing. You will work directly with clients to understand technical needs, design and simulate mechanical solutions, develop manufacturing tooling and process parameters, and create test plans to guide design decisions. You'll collaborate with the AppliedLogix Electronics Group on PCB packaging challenges and document deliverables for client handoff.
You bring a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of design engineering experience. You are self-motivated with strong communication skills, capable of managing multiple concurrent projects, and comfortable applying technical expertise to unfamiliar applications. You have solid understanding of DFM/DFA principles and are an experienced SolidWorks user. Preferred qualifications include experience with active and passive cooling solutions, busbar design and sizing, manufacturing tool development, and analytical tools such as FEA and thermal analysis (SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS). You're willing to travel up to 10% as needed. This is a hybrid on-site opportunity based in Rochester.
