CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Mechanical Engineering team. The company develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. In this role, you will own the mechanical design aspects of Cesium phased array antennas, subsystems, and interfaces across all development phases—from concept through space flight. You will be responsible for requirements definition, architecture trades, block diagrams, analysis, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support. Key responsibilities include: - Mechanical design and analysis of satellite antenna systems and payloads - Electronics packaging and computer-aided design (CAD) work - Thermal architecture and mechanical interface design - Deployable and actuated structures - Environmental qualification of spacecraft hardware - Presenting engineering design review materials to customers and executive leadership - Participating in proposal-writing efforts The ideal candidate brings versatility and proficiency across mechanical analysis, CAD, thermal design, spacecraft propulsion, and environmental qualification. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic, cross-functional startup environment with hands-on, autonomous work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will interface with customers and leadership.
