Salary: USD 126,000 - 167,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Tactical Recon & Strike team develops aerial small drones (Group 1-3) and all equipment to test, deploy, and operate them. Products include Ghost, Anvil, Bolt, and Altius systems, powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system for real-time command and control. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the physical design and sustainment of unmanned aircraft and related hardware systems. You will work closely and iteratively with aircraft design teams to optimize system designs and maximize performance against desired metrics. This work may include composite fuselage or flight surface design, internal structural components, drivetrain systems, launch systems, or payloads. You will be involved in all levels of product maturity, from initial concept through design, analysis, prototyping, flight testing, and manufacturing. Key responsibilities include: - Contributing to and leading team efforts on design, analysis, fabrication, prototyping, and flight testing of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and launch systems - Performing mechanical design work and coaching others in all aspects of mechanical design - Component and assembly-level design and prototyping - System and sub-system design, modeling, and prototyping - Creating production drawings applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) - Reviewing and approving designs, analyses, and engineering drawings Required qualifications include a B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 8+ years of relevant industry experience. You must have expertise in 3D CAD design (solid and surface modeling), machine design fundamentals, structural analysis using hand calculations and finite element models, GD&T per ASME standards, tolerance analysis, design for manufacturing and assembly, Product Lifecycle Management, and requirements verification and validation. You must be eligible for DoD Secret Clearance. Preferred qualifications include defense, national security, or aerospace domain familiarity, experience leading projects from development through manufacturing and sustainment, relevant experience in aerospace structures or subsystems design/analysis, and experience leading engineering product teams.
