Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company develops fully autonomous unmanned underwater vehicles (Dive-XL, Copperhead) and other maritime systems powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system for real-time 3D command and control.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer on the Maritime team, you will drive the full product lifecycle of electromechanical systems—from design and prototyping through manufacturing, integration, testing, and delivery. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where rapid iteration and technical excellence are critical to programmatic success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the complete product lifecycle: design, prototyping, manufacturing, integration, testing, and delivery of integrated electromechanical systems
- Navigating complex trade spaces that balance external constraints, evolving requirements, timelines, and quality across multiple stakeholders
- Contributing as a core member of multi-disciplinary integrated product teams, bringing mechanical expertise to cross-functional collaboration
- Critically evaluating mechanical solutions for user value, manufacturability, delivery speed, reliability, reusability, and iterability
- Engaging directly with end-users to understand needs and incorporate feedback into technical solutions
- Traveling to co-locate with end-users, visit vendors, and support integration and test activities (up to 20%)
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or equivalent
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer on diverse technologies
- Demonstrated ability to work holistically on complex robotic systems across design, implementation, operation, and sustainment
- Capacity to serve as technical lead for complex subsystems, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, and evolution
- Ability to learn, grow individually, and build team cohesion
- Eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. Top Secret security clearance
Preferred qualifications include experience with robotic and autonomous systems, defense/maritime/aerospace domains, CAD tools (Siemens NX, Nastran, FEMAP), mechanism design, rapid prototyping, manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, injection molding, composites, additive manufacturing), and finite element analysis of structural assemblies.
