Salary: USD 150,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Anduril Expeditionary Systems (AES) team within the Connected Warfare division. This team is dedicated to modernizing command and control systems for U.S. and Allied forces by building large form factor products that deliver cutting-edge computing and communications capabilities to soldiers in the field.
In this role, you will own hardware development from concept through real-world deployment. You will work closely with a tight-knit product team and directly with military customers to understand battlefield challenges and translate those into novel hardware designs. Your responsibilities include:
- Owning hardware from concept generation to fielded use
- Serving as a key contributor to an integrated product team
- Engaging with customers to understand real-world mission requirements
- Designing novel hardware solutions from first principles
- Applying engineering analysis and testing to ensure designs withstand battlefield conditions
- Building prototypes and first articles hands-on
- Traveling to field exercises to support products and gather warfighter feedback
- Collaborating with manufacturing teams to scale production and delivery
You will leverage first-principles engineering, rigorous analysis, and practical testing to create hardware that performs under extreme conditions. This is a hands-on role that values both theoretical rigor and practical fabrication skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience
- Demonstrated ability to design, prototype, and ship hardware
- Proven track record of design ownership in a team setting (professional or otherwise)
- High competence with engineering first principles and their application
- Proficiency with CAD (any platform) and ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings
- Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills
- BS, M.Eng, MS, or PhD in an engineering field
- U.S. Person status (required for access to U.S. export-controlled information and facilities)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with NX/Teamcenter
- Ability to integrate electronic components (motors, controllers, sensors) into mechanical designs
- Experience with machining, sheet metal, composites, and 3D printing
- Knowledge of static, dynamic, or thermal analysis methods and ANSYS
- Active Top Secret Security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one
