Amperesand is reinventing power infrastructure for the modern energy era. The company develops intelligent, software-defined power infrastructure products based on advanced medium-voltage solid-state transformer technology. With electricity demand surging due to AI data centers, electric vehicles, and industrial growth, and energy supply diversifying across solar, gas, and battery storage, Amperesand is modernizing power systems that have remained largely unchanged for nearly 100 years.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design custom machinery and support projects from concept through installation and commissioning. You'll create detailed mechanical designs using CAD software (3D EXPERIENCE, CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar), modeling complex electro-mechanical parts including plastics, sheet metal, insulators, magnetic components, and high-voltage connectors. Your work will focus on high-power density environments where efficiency and reliability are critical.
You will collaborate closely with product design, controls, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to ensure designs meet performance and manufacturability requirements. The role spans the full project lifecycle, requiring strong technical depth in mechanical engineering, thermal management, and integration of electrical and mechanical systems. You'll work with advanced manufacturing processes and contribute to products that are faster to deploy, more compact, and more efficient than traditional electrical equipment.
Amperesand is led by energy hardware veterans and backed by top-tier investors. The company operates hubs in San Francisco, Reno, and Singapore, with a global team focused on solving critical power infrastructure challenges at scale.
