Salary: USD 112,200 - 179,000 / annual
Skydio is the leading US autonomous drone company, serving defense, public safety, and enterprise customers. As Senior Materials Program Manager, you will drive material strategy and execution for drone and dock products through the Clear-to-Build (CTB) process in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) across the product lifecycle, ensuring material availability at in-house FATP and contract manufacturer sites. Oversee all Tier 2 materials management at CM sites for critical modules and sub-assemblies.
- Manage CTB reporting to drive material readiness aligned with production plans and customer orders. Develop material strategy balancing inventory optimization with cost exposure.
- Proactively identify supply chain risks and mitigation strategies. Communicate risks across stakeholders and cross-functional teams; escalate issues timely.
- Drive Engineering Change Orders (ECO), product transitions, and material revisions to ensure supply continuity and minimize obsolescence.
- Collaborate with purchasing and supply chain teams on supply commits, shortage resolution, and supplier strategy.
- Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, program management, product development, design engineering, production control, and logistics teams.
- Engage with system developers to build and improve internal tools and processes.
- Champion continuous improvement of internal and external processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Operations.
- 5–8 years of related experience in OEM/JDM/ODM hardware business with prior contract manufacturer (CM) experience.
- Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills; ability to manage and synthesize large datasets.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present material status in weekly program and executive meetings.
- Collaborative team player mindset.
- Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and ERP systems is a plus.
- Must be on-site in Hayward, California 3 days per week minimum.
- FAA Part 107 certification strongly encouraged within first 60 days; required for certain positions.
