Relativity Space is building reusable launch vehicles (Terran R) using advanced manufacturing techniques including 3D printing. The Materials and Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) team is central to enabling the vehicle to fly, re-fly, and scale across all vehicle components. In this role, you will be the discipline expert and owner for Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) additive manufacturing processes and materials used in reusable launch vehicle products. You will take ownership of PBF materials and products for liquid propulsion systems, driving qualification efforts for flight and reuse. Key responsibilities include: - Serve as the M&P discipline expert for PBF additive manufacturing of reusable launch vehicle products - Own materials and processes for reusable liquid propulsion products and systems - Qualify PBF materials and products for flight and reuse cycles - Drive system-level requirements and workflows for damage-tolerant design, inspection, flight qualification, and reuse - Develop, implement, and maintain technical specifications and engineering standards for PBF materials - Lead material process improvement campaigns in partnership with PBF engineering and production teams - Interface with PBF engineering, production, materials engineering, design, and quality teams to iterate and qualify processes - Collaborate across disciplines to balance performance, reliability, cost, quality, and schedule You will work at the intersection of innovation and execution, gaining broad exposure across design, manufacturing, and operations.
