Kraken, one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms with over 10 million users, is seeking a Senior Market Surveillance Investigator to join its Market Surveillance function. This role is responsible for detecting, investigating, and reporting market abuse across regulated trading venues spanning spot crypto markets, crypto futures, tokenised equities, OTC markets, and consumer trading.
You will own complex investigations end-to-end, writing findings to a standard that regulators can rely on and presenting conclusions to diverse stakeholders. Key responsibilities include leading or contributing to periodic threshold and model reviews to recalibrate surveillance rules and alert thresholds as trading behaviour, products, and market structure evolve. You will support the design, build-out, and integration of surveillance platform capability, including onboarding new products, venues, and data sources. Additionally, you will contribute to market abuse risk assessments, helping identify and score risk across products, jurisdictions, and entities, translating findings into surveillance coverage.
The role involves using AI and automation tools responsibly to speed up evidence-gathering, case reconstruction, and detection-model development, always maintaining human judgement over final decisions. You will also support conflicts of interest, information barrier, and personal account dealing matters across Markets Compliance, extending beyond surveillance casework where buy-side or asset management experience is relevant.
This is an opportunity to shape how Kraken detects and covers market abuse as the business scales, working within a modern financial infrastructure platform built to advance an open, global financial system.
